GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:

During these few days,
I’ve been moving around, doing this and that in KL
to make progress with new projects and, it’s better here after all.
I also feel comfortable being able to work at my own pace.

You could say I feel at ease, or relaxed.
I find a lot of potential in getting to meet new friends again.

I was able to be laid back for a few days in KL but
because of meetings for other work,
I had to hurriedly go to the Philippines.

I arrived at KL’s airport early in the morning.
It’s been awhile since I came to KL’s airport this early in the morning but
for some reason, there are a lot of people.

I found something interesting.
A Lamborghini Huracán is being displayed in the airport for some reason.
I went towards it and asked what it was for,
and it seems like to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the airport, you can win it by shopping.
The staff happily said,

『Maybe you’ll be able to drive a Lamborghini too?』

and was grinning so,

『You’re right… It’s a car I want to drive someday…』

I replied with a smile.
Even so,
there are all kinds of people gathered at this airport.
It’s always very interesting no matter when I look around.

I went to the counter and was issued my ticket.
While going through the usual procedures, a group of staff members gathered.
I thought that there might be some problems with my passport but,
one of the staff members came towards me
and asked,

『Are you… Mr.GACKT??』.

I tried to say, No… but the phone screen already
had my picture that was found from Google.

『Pretty much… I guess…』

I gave an unsure reply and all of them started getting excited with joy.
I felt a little embarrassed for some reason.
I took a picture with all of them then headed straight to the security check.

After going through security, I was queuing to board the plane and there were kids in front of me.
Such a kid has a Saint Laurent bag.
Recently, kids carrying brands that are typically unaffordable for them make me feel ill.

I’ve even seen some of them carrying premium bags like Birkins.

『Just how the fuck are you able to buy a bag that costs 3 million yen for yourself?』

I just want to say that aloud.
When I see kids in their early twenties carrying bags that don’t fit their status at all,
I always question how those kids earn their money.

Just thinking about it is horrible.
I often read about JK business and so and so… but,
actually, in present day Japan, businesses selling unimaginable things are rampant.
There are quite a few idols, gravure idols, models who don’t sell,
and even those university students and working adults who look normal at first glance
who are in these businesses.

A country this strong in being brand-oriented is rare too.
I don’t think that you shouldn’t buy branded goods at all but
there are too many kids who end up indifferent to prostitution
or end up getting used to weird sensations just to be able to buy something that they normally can’t afford.
No, I don’t think they think of it as prostitution to begin with.
I suppose they think of it in a lighter image, like receiving a small allowance for dating.

Overseas, there overwhelmingly many who sell themselves
because they can’t make a living but
in Japan, they’re not selling themselves because they can’t afford to live,
instead, they do it to be able to buy expensive branded goods
and to live luxurious lives.
Or are they doing it because working normally is a pain?
Whichever it is, there’s no decency left in the world…

I hope that the women of the world will take care of themselves more.
Indeed, there are many things that 【can only be done when you’re young】.
However, you shouldn’t misinterpret it and do whatever you want.
I wonder if it’s a fundamental problem
that makes people fail to interpret those things that they do
for that lifestyle and those acts as 【having fallen】…

When I spoke of this to my friend, he said

『Well, that can’t be helped. Kids these days…』

and it ended with that casual reply.
The question of “I wonder why…” welled up but
I suppose… this is also the trend of the times…

I can’t help but feel that something is weird.
Aa〜〜〜h…

Well then.
I’ll be arriving in the Philippines soon.
I can see islands.

Alright then…
It would be nice if I can relax though.
