FUJITV-VIEW.JP: GACKT “Something Strange is Going On” 20 times a day in Saitama, 23 times in Shiga… I’m shocked at the number of screenings in movie theaters

The opening day stage greeting for the movie “Fly to Saitama ~From Lake Biwa with Love~” was held on November 23rd, and GACKT, who plays the lead role, and Fumi Nikaido appeared.

“Fly to Saitama” was released in 2019 as a live-action film based on Mineo Maya’s original work “This Manga is Amazing! Comics Fly to Saitama” (Takarajimasha). Despite the content that thoroughly disses the fictional Saitama prefecture, it carved a love for the hometown into the hearts of Saitama residents. In this sequel, the stage is expanded to the Kansai region, and a “confrontation between East and West that divides the world” takes place.

At the event, Ryo Kato, Tsubasa Masuwaka, Mayu Hotta, Kukki! (Wild Bomb), Maryjun Takahashi, Mayo Kawasaki, Norika Fujiwara, and director Hideki Takeuchi also took the stage.

GACKT confessed that he heard something unbelievable from Director Takeuchi.

“The director said, “Saitama is in a strange situation right now.” He asked me how many times (in a day) do you think this movie is shown in one movie theater? When I counted and answered, it was 20 times, far exceeding the number I said.”

According to director Takeuchi, the movie is screened “about once every 15 minutes” by making full use of multiple screens.

Then Masuwaka, who is from Saitama Prefecture, added, “It’s a movie theater called MOVIX Saitama.”

Furthermore, GACKT-san revealed, “Shiga is getting even weirder, and there have been 23 (screenings)”, and Kukki, who is from Shiga Prefecture! “Okay!” he said happily.

At the end of the event, Nikaido expressed his desire for a sequel, saying, “I hope we can build excitement for Part 3.”

GACKT said to the assembled audience, “Before you go home with this emotion, there is a sales corner outside, and the system is such that you can’t go home unless the items are sold out, so buy as much as you can. Please go home,” he asked them to buy goods, making them laugh.
