Foolish humans are unable to stop fighting among each other. However, there is alway hopeーー. The tour final which lasted 4 hours delivered this message to us. Music, film, artistry, and performance are all made use to of to stimulate the 5 senses in order to embody the story of GACKT’s “VISUALIVE”. His first concept tour in 7 years, and also clearly labelled as the “LAST”, traces the the story of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who he performed as in previous stage plays. Yoshitsune, performed by GACKT, has been driven into a corner and is in a life or death situation, and just as a rain of arrows was about to pour down on him, it started extremely brilliantly with the curtains opening to his newest single 「ARROW」. Following that was 「Hana mo Chiyu」with red flower petals fluttering, 「RIDE OR DIE」 with flashes and explosions breaking out, and then 「Akatsukizukuyo -DAY BREAKERS-」, which emanated emotion towards his fallen friends. The songs beautifully embody the intensity and misery of war. The live is sandwiched between film which puts it in 4 parts. The 2nd part starts with GACKT in a Heian era costume strumming on the samisen, then performing his songs together with dancers while brandishing a sword. Following that, in a complete change from being brought into the world of strife, we were transferring to Camui♂Gakuen’s stage for the 3rd part, where they sang and danced with their everything while displaying their well-trained bodies. Suddenly, DJ KOO (TRF) appeared to congratulate GACKT, who will be celebrating his birthday on the next day, and the hall was filled with smiles. But in the 4th part, he returns to Yoshitsune’s image, embodying his dying thoughts in a dramatic final with 「Setsugekka -The end of silence-」. His strong, yet gentle and affectionate vocals move the hearts of the audience more than any performance, and made known to us that he is both a true artiste and a true singer.
