we’re welcoming the last day of 2015.
Though I spent more than half the year in the aeroplane.
Looking back,
it was a year when I
managed to meet many new people
despite being so busy.
Not that there were no troubles at all.
Such a normal life is probably unforgivable.
Besides,
I normally think that
troubles are
one of the life events that have to be accepted.
There are people who run when troubles occur.
There are also those who do something and make a move.
There are new people to meet.
It’s neither good nor bad.
The main point is
how you capture that and live it.
Moreover,
recognise that
troubles are also
one of the important life events that ties fates together.
A few days ago,
when I was in Taiwan
a friend shared a phrase with me.
[有缘无分]
In Chinese, it’s pronounced as You Yuan Wu Fen.
This phrase is deep.
[缘] is as the same as “enishi (Japanese)” which refers to encounters.
[分] is a little difficult for Japanese to understand but, it means
substance or outcome.
In other words,
I believe it can be understood
that these words hold such meaning.
『Even if there is fate (between two people),
if you don’t make the effort or create substance between each other,
the outcome you get is nothing』
In other words,
you can take it’s meaning as
fate being something that you create.
I believe that many who are reading this
have had many encounters before.
But,
aren’t there many cases where
they can’t deal well with the relationship of the people they’ve had
encounters with,
and just say
『We were not fated』
and let the relationship end there?
It’s not that you were not fated.
It’s because you met.
What was lacking is
a collaboration that bridges the gap between you and the other person.
That is what leads to fate being realised.
No,
you have to build it up that way.
In other words,
because “fate” can be taken as “destiny” as well,
depending on interpretation,
it can be understood as
『Destiny things being set in motion
by one’s actions』.
Some days ago while having drinks,
I considered this phrase
while thinking and looking back on the encounters and farewells I’ve
had this year.
Like the lack of thought for the other parties
and my own actions.
『They’d definitely come to understand me…』
This is just ego that’s favourable to myself.
With the words “they’d come to understand me”,
it means that not enough effort has been made.
For others to understand me,
effort is required on my part to convey it.
Among Japanese, there are an exceptionally large number of people
who are severely lacking in this.
Because there are many who
surely hesitate to give a step
to the other party.
Of course.
it is not necessarily a bad thing.
Just that,
you have to understand that
when fate tries to bring things together in reality and you don’t put
in effort yourself
and don’t take the actions to make that bond of fate stronger,
the outcome you will receive is nothing.
If you don’t do that,
every year you’re just living life as a mere passerby.
Being like that is exceptionally lonely.
As we welcome 2016,
those who feel that they’re lives until now have been filled with passersby,
put in effort to make that bond of fate a reality.
That means to go and make a move.
If you make a move, the other party will receive the waves.
Even in still water, if something moves
ripples will spread.
Delivering the ripples to the other party is to make a move.
While spending the year,
I’m thankful to have been able to receives such wonderful words.
So the reason for my coming to Taiwan,
is to firmly grasp something like this… I thought,
I felt that once again there was a meaning for my one day stay.
Well then, It’s time to go.
To head towards next year.
To head towards a new year.
To heard towards 2016.
