Genji Umeno blog update. New photos with GACKT. Translation below:

Recently
I was introduced to GACKT by one of my acquaintance who’s a manager
and I was able to train together with him at his home.
The first day, before the training we talked about a lot of things in his living room……..
He listened to my words attentively and I was able to listen to GACKT’s words too.
Among other things, our talk about meals and weight loss was particularly useful.
I was so surprised by his knowledge to the point of thinking ‘Is GACKT an expert?’…
(I’ll use this as a reference when I need to lose weight!)
In addition, we also talked about private things etc.
I was able to have a fairly rich conversation! (Laugh)
And then, well! We headed to training
Among other things, he taught me about
Muscle training

And how to punch

How to kick

GACKT does many martial arts and so his knowledge is really incredible.
He is very intelligent too so he was able to give me theoretical explanation as well,
and since I was taught so many techniques that I hadn’t learned so far,
it was really instructive for me.
Whatever one my say, there is basically no one that thinks he can teach me or that can correct my when it comes to kicks and punches so, I’m really grateful that I was able to learn so many different things about Muay Thai seen from a ‘different point of view’.
Curiously, I’m truly more thankful for this than being told ‘You are a champion so there’s nothing to teach you!’
Also, this ‘Being able to learn from a different point of view’ it’s really an important thing!
Since I have been doing nothing but Muay Thai, it’s natural that in my head there are some fixed ideas towards it. But, being able to remove this fixed ideas from my mind and learn these techniques from a different point of view has given me a new awareness.
I say so myself but, I’m an obedient person that properly does what he is told to!
If I truly want to try a technique that I think I’ll be able to use, I’ll do my best to embody it, and if I think that it might be useful in a match I’ll store that knowledge in my mind.
I think that experience is important for everything.
No matter what people without experience tell me their words have no power so they won’t resonate in my heart.
I don’t want to be a person like that and I don’t want to blabber about things I don’t even know.
But, after I have experience something “Great things are great. Not so great things are not so great” , then I’ll speak about them.
But let’s go back to the topic
We also practiced stretching

and trained using the medicine ball

We also did some Body-hit
Since I’ve uploaded it on twitter and instagram I think that there are people who already saw the video where the Medicine ball falls on my stomach but… This was really tough.
This ball is pretty hard and it weighs 9 kg so under my back there’s a special mat.
After that we immediately did some Body-hit.
“GACKT’s punches are pretty strong..”
There’s no way this was not tough!! (laugh)
Even for a pro like me this kind of training that GACKT does every day is tough.
“The manager and staff members do it too.”
There are many people that just say ‘It looks incredible’ but….. But those people should try it first!
Only after doing so words gain a persuasive power.
The stretching was pretty tough too!
Doing something you are not accustomed to is really hard and unpleasant but, I think there’s a great meaning in going on with it anyway, so……. I’ll do my best too!
Then, he attentively followed my training on the second day too.
This day was also tough but….. since I was learning in self-training both in the morning training and in the practice in the gym it was better than the first day ^^
After this second day of training I was allowed to touch GACKT’s muscles and I was surprised because they were soft……
In particular his chest!! (laugh)
It was so soft that I ended up grabbing it with both ends. (laugh)
Ah~ , It was really instructive!!!
After the training we got back to the apartment and we talked about a lot of things……..
GACKT told me “Do your best and become world’s number one. I’ll support you^^!When you have a match in Thailand come by in Malaysia. You can stay in my house♪ ”
And when it was time to go back he had (Enzyme – Protein) prepared for me as well!

Furthermore, he also tagged me on social networks.
Since I was tagged on SNS it looks like GACKT’s fans started to research about Muay Thai……
and I received a lot of messages of encouragement.
During this training I was able to become friend with the manager and other people so….. I’m really grateful!

Here is GACKT’s blog

Next time I want to learn many other things more not only about training (^ー^)
