The physical abilities were drawn up and used up to the limit.
The slim and lithe actress who just turned 19 exhausted her physical abilities to the limit.
I stood at the extreme site together with the film, sound, lights, costumes, and production staff.
The heat, water, and forest has followed us all the time.
Despite that, we are united at the site everyday, overflowing with energy, summoning up each of our own abilities and caliber.
I am blessed to be surrounded by such colleagues.
There are still a few days left in Okinawa's nature, agriculture, and culture where we have to film the last climax while being mixed in water and mud. It will be the final phase with Kato Tokiko san, Yui Masayuki san, and Chen Chao from China.
In 3 days, our time of filming in Okinawa, the main setting for this movie, will end.
In autumn, the stage will move to Aoyama in Shinjuku, to show the world's top lifestyle and design, in addition to the Tokyo chapter, I'll return to Okinawa for a few days to film its scenery left behind.

Ohh〜 a blubbering cicada♪
I wrote the lyrics for the theme song of Karanukan, Ai ni Nare.
Kato Tokiko wrote the melody, Marlene sings it.
The picture of the cicada that appears in the line was something I caught when I went on a stroll. It became a picture with a story as I took photographed it on my pillow.
It's amazing voice is making a lot of calls.

Director's Diary
Today was GACKT's last scene, a large-scale shoot, and a sublime shoot in the brackish water of the river pulled by the tide. Matched by the sunset and even the drone. Shaun Kazama's painful role in the scene of bringing the heroine to the girlfriend on motorbike, and GACKT's last scene were respectively filmed by drone.

La foto della cicala che appare nella strofa l'ho scattata quando stavo facendo una passeggiata. E' diventata la foto di una storia, l'ho fotografata sul mio cuscino
La sua voce affascinante sta ottenendo tante risposte.

Diario del regista
Oggi l'ultima scena di GACKT, una scena a larga scala, ed una ripresa sublime nell'acqua trascinati dalla marea. Con il tramonto del il drone. Il doloroso ruolo di Shaun Kazama nella scena del portare l'eroina a fare la parte della fidanzata in motocicletta, e l'ultima scena di GACKT è stata filmata dal drone.

The home of the Fuku trees that have withstood over 300 years of storms remains.
It counts on the revival of the village that stays at the cozy harbor.
The movie, the Hamano team are both working in perfect harmony, well GACKT is left with one more day.
It'll be hard to leave.

[:en]Movie Karanukan Director's Diary
Kimura Suzuka, who acts as the heroine Ishigaki Maumi, has grown greatly thus far.
Today, she acted out the tear-jerking love scene together with GACKT. As a 19 year-old rookie, the pressure was probably huge for Suzuka but, with GACKT's genius direction and gentleness, they brilliantly acted out love blooming.
This picture was taken during the filming of the scene soon after, when I got a bit of time from directing. She's growing more beautiful isn't she.
Applause for Suzuka's performance of a beautiful yet rich love scene!

Director's Diary
When we returned to the hotel,
I found myself idly staring
at the splendor of the setting sun in the sea outside the window.
Today was the busiest of shoots but, we've successfully completed 2 days of hard mountain climbing and filming.
I've learnt a lot from GACKT.

We've finally entered deep into Yaeyama.

Moving toward the climax scene of the movie bringing all our shooting equipment on a one-way mountain road for 40 minutes.
In the scorching heat of Okinawa, with an abnormal high temperature, we prepare our equipement and shooting plan, make camera tests, sound recording silently.
In my work, I always try to insistently focus on important aesthetics, philosophy, beautiful pictures.
GACKT also gave me his advice. And made important proposals.
'I'll do my best until director is fully satisfied'
I'm moved to tears by his affection.

Movie Karanukan Director's Diary
The colour composition, actuality, cuts, are all beautiful.
This icecream stand, is something borrowed from the style of Okinawa's roadside stores that we often see.

Arrivando alla scena principale del film portandoci tutto l'equipaggiamento del film su una montagna per 40 minuti.
Nel caldo di Okinawa, con un'incredibilmente alta temperatura, prepariamo il piano riprese e tutto il nostro equipaggiamento, facciamo prove con la telecamera, e la registrazione del suono silenziosamente.
Nel mio lavoro, ho sempre provato a concentrarmi sull'estetica, la filosofia, le belle immagini.
GACKT mi ha anche dato il suo consiglio. E fatto importanti proposte.
'Farò del mio meglio finché il regista non sarà soddisfatto'

La composizione di colori, la realtà, i tagli, tutto è bellissimo.
Il chiosco del gelato, è qualcosa appartenente allo stile delle strade di Okinawa che noi vediamo spesso.
