Anche quest'anno GACKT ha partecipato al festival in onore del grande generale dell'epoca degli stati combattenti Uesugi Kenshin. Il festival in onore di questo grande generale è tenuto dal 15° anno del periodo Taisho (1926), ovvero la stessa cittadina d'origine di Kenshin.
Il 23 Agosto (Domenica) , gli eroici soldati in armatura hanno compiuto l'assalto insieme al generale Uesugi interpretato da Gackt. Gackt ha già avuto modo di interpretare questo personaggio storico nel 2007, nel telefilm "FurinKazan" , "Le campanelle del vulcano" della rete NHK. Mentre lungo la strada gli spettatori aspettavano con impazienza il loro eroe, è apparso Kenshin GACKT in groppa al suo cavallo seguito dal suo esercito, incoraggiato poi dai forti applausi e urla di gioia degli spettatori.
Il festival ha inoltre raggiunto il climax quando, quasi raggiunta la tappa finale, il generale Kenshin GACKT ha dato un ordine al suo esercito e gli spettatori per far sentire il proprio appoggio hanno fatto sentire la propria voce. Il festival di Kenshin è un festival atto a onorare il ricordo dell'eroe della cittadina di Joetsu, il generale Uesugi Kenshin. 1000 soldati indossano le armature, hanno con se katane o lance e fino al sito storico di Kasuga Yamashiro compiono un coraggioso assalto.In ogni luogo è possibile ascoltare le grida che incoraggiano a combattere o guardare file di bambini vestiti da guerrieri.Inoltre, è possibile vedere i cavalieri sfilare in groppa ai loro bellissimi cavalli corazzati, osservare le strategia militari o le tattiche di combattimento, proprio come se si stesse vivendo in un film ambientato nella vera battaglia di Kawanakashima. Grazie all'atmosfera realistica che si crea, questo è un evento che non è possibile vedere in nessun altro luogo e che attrae moltissimi fan dei film di guerra. GACKT , che ha interpretato Uesugi Kenshin sin dal 2007 per un telefilm andato in onda sulla rete televisiva NHK,ha aggiunto una bellissima atmosfera a questo festival facendolo diventare uno dei migliori di tutto il territorio del Nigata.

In Joetsu city (Niigata prefecture) it has been held today August 23rd the 90th edition of the battle of General Uesugi Kenshin (played by the musician GACKT). Nella città di Joetsu (prefettura di Nigata) si è tenuta oggi 23 Agosto 2015 la 90edizione del festival dell'avanzata del generale Uesugi Kenshin (impersonato dal musicista GACKT). GACKT, dopo aver partecipato a quest'evento per 7 volte negli ultimi 3 anni è tornato a indossare le vesti color lilla del generale, apparendo in groppa al suo cavallo. Appena arrivato a gran voce insieme al suo esercito, fa risuonare il suo grido di battaglia, che si è aggiunto alla voce degli spettatori situati ai bordi della strada.

Quest'anno hanno partecipato circa 500 persone provenienti da fuori città all'assalto indossando le vesti dei soldati intenti a combattere la battaglia tra Uesugi e il Daimyo Takeda.
GACKT, dopo le ore 16, comandando l'esercito del generale Uesugi, dalla scuola elementare del quartiere di Kasuga ha girato l'incrocio dirigendosi verso la strada della linea Sanroku a gran velocità. Non appena è arrivato un grande urlo di gioia si è alzato dalla folla.
