Kato Tokiko has the role of Miyagi Miko, that is the teacher of textile dyeing of the Basho cloth (*cloth derived from the banana tree) performing circular agriculture.
She also appears in a scene giving kind guidance to the Chinese student Lu Hong, played by Chen Chao. It is really a fine performance.
She will teach the heroine Ishigaku Maumi, played by Kimura Suzuka self-confidence and firm convinction through art.

Karanukan's director diary
Nakamura Mamiko (The woman in the picture with GACKT) is the manager of the ULTRA BLUE, the seashore Restaurant, Cafe’ and holiday house surrounded by fukugi (*Happiness tree) that appears in a really important scene.
We were allowed to use its name as it is. Nakamura moved to Bisezaki, in the same period I did, to protect those trees.
As I hinted before, Marlene, the jazz singer that gave her voice to the theme song, is the one that took on the role of the Mama-san (*Head of an activity) Nakamura, acting as Sato Yukie (The one on the left in the picture below).
Kimura Suzuka was chooses among many applicants as the ‘new face’ that would take on the role of the heroine, Ishigaku Maumi ( on the right) that came to ask for counseling.
Everyone acted so naturally. I do all I can to watch over the performance without influencing it too much.

Nakamura Mamiko (la donna nella foto con GACKT) è la manager di ULTRA BLUE, il ristorante cafè sulla costa e casa vacanze circondata da fukugi (*albero della felicità) che appare in una scena molto importante.
Ci è stato permesso di usare il suo nome così com'è. Nakamura si è trasferita a Bisezaki, nello stesso periodo in cui mi sono trasferito io, per proteggere quegli alberi.
Come ho accennato prima, Marlene, la cantante jazz che ha dato la voce alla canzone principale, è quella che ha ricoperto il ruolo di Mama-san (*Capo delle attività), Nakamura, che recita come Sato Yukie (Quella sulla sinistra nella foto qui sotto).
Kimura Suzuka è stata scelta fra molte iscritte come "nuovo volto" che avrebbe ricoperto il ruolo dell'eroina, Ishigaku Maumi (sulla sinistra) che è venuto a chiedere consiglio.
Tutti hanno recitato così naturalmente. Io faccio tutto quel che posso per proteggere la loro performance senza influenzarla troppo.

Noro are the traditional shrine maiden of the Shinto religion in Ryukyu (*old name of Okinawa).
To well express the strong presence that puts a hold to man's culture rampage, I had the pleasure to have the presence and prayers of Konno Yuri, the eldest among Japanese business women and my close friend (center), Nakamura Mariko, in the front, that has a restaurant and a high-class villa in Bise, Miyagi Yoko in her Noro's leading position, and behind Konno Yuri my friends Eriko, Miyazato Kayoko.
Thank you for putting up with the long shooting and the blazing sun with those heavy clothing.

In the movie we had a lot of waterfalls scenes. This one does not come out in any scene but, there's a view on the Pacific ocean from up here.
It is a very important scene in order to set free the heart of GACKT's Ooyama Hikaru .
To choose the best waterfalls i walked these places many, many times.

It has already been introduced as the Film Festival poster though.

Nel film abbiamo avuto un sacco di scene con le cascate. Questo non si vede in nessuna scena ma, c'è una vista sull'oceano Pacifico da qui sopra.
E' una scena molto importante per liberare il cuore del personaggio di GACKT, Ooyama Hikaru .
Per scegliere il meglio delle cascate io ho camminato attraverso questi posti molte, molte volte.
