When the restaurant says they cannot prepare it, the perpetrator demands, “We will prepare it, so please transfer the money in advance,” or “Put it on the bill after the meal.”
This is a complete scam.
This call was recently made to a restaurant in Fukuoka, where GACKT is currently on tour.
Even more insidious are the business cards being used.
– Uses the name of a manager who has already left the company.
– Lists a different phone number than before.
– Corrects unnatural kanji characters that were previously pointed out.
In other words, they are continuing the scam while making minor adjustments to their methods.
But what they are doing is the same.
It’s unoriginal.
To date, similar phone calls have been confirmed at over 30 establishments.
Restaurants that have already been affected have filed police reports.
The police have also begun their investigation.
If you receive a similar call, absolutely do not make any payments and contact the company’s official LINE account immediately.
