GACKT Official X Update. Translation below

[The GACKT Method:
Anti-Aging
Shampoo Routine]

I’m not sure if everyone needs this,
but I thought it might be useful,
so I’m sharing it.

The other day,
a friend visiting me in Malaysia
asked me this:

“You’re a full cycle older than me,
yet you have such a full head of hair
and no wrinkles on your face.
What do you do?
What kind of cream do you use?”

So, I answered:

“As for serums,
I only apply collagen.
Just to keep my skin from drying out.
Actually,
I try *not* to apply too many things.
If you apply too much,
I feel like the skin’s natural ability
to restore itself weakens…”

Then,

“So,
what else do you do?”
he asked, really keen to know.

When I told him about
the GACKT routine I follow every morning,
he was astounded.

I wondered,
“Is that really so surprising?”
But since I think even people who struggle
to stick with things could do this daily,
I’m going to introduce
the way I wash my hair
every day.

First off,
in my opinion,
most people wash their hair carelessly.

To start,
I don’t use any shampoo.

With the shower running,
I bend forward at the waist—
this is crucial.

I position myself so that
my head is lower than my heart.

In that position,
I massage my scalp
with the pads of my fingers for about three minutes.

It’s like massaging the scalp
while rinsing it with warm water.

Naturally,
both my face and head
start to feel quite flushed and warm.

I’ve taken to calling this
“Blood: The Ultimate Beauty Serum.”

Of course,
there’s no scientific basis for it.
It’s entirely based on my own feeling. For starters,
my face and head are usually
positioned higher than my heart.

I once heard that
“doing a handstand is good for your face and scalp,”

so I thought,
“Well, why not just do it
while I’m in the shower every day?”
…and that’s how I started.

If I do it while bending forward,
I can massage my scalp.
I can also get a good forward-bend stretch in.

Afterward,
my face and head feel nice and warm.

I do this for about three minutes
before I finally start shampooing.

What comes next is also important.

I don’t apply
shampoo directly
to my scalp.

That’s because I don’t want to strip away
more sebum than necessary.

Instead of scrubbing the scalp vigorously,
I wash by gently kneading the hair.
I do this while bending forward, too.

By the way,
after a long time of struggling to find the right product,
I finally discovered
“Silk the Rich.”

I really like it.

Once I’m done washing,
I rinse it right off.
I stay bent forward the whole time up to this point.

My face and head
should be feeling quite warm by now.

Next is the treatment.

After towel-drying my hair a bit,
I apply it mainly to the ends,
avoiding the roots as much as possible.

Now, I switch directions.
I [arch backward].

I turn my back to the shower
and arch my body backward.

While applying the treatment,
I stretch out my midsection and back.

After applying it, I run a brush through my hair
and let it sit for a while.

During that time, I brush my teeth.
Then, I wash my face.

I don’t use facial cleanser;
I wash gently using the pads of my fingers.

It feels more like a massage
than scrubbing.
It’s about gently removing only the surface oil.

Finally,
I rinse out the treatment.

I do this with my back to the shower
and my body still arched backward.

I make sure the water
hits only my hair. Finish up with a cold shower,
and that’s it.

In other words,
even though you’re just taking a shower,

[Scalp massage]
[Forward bend]
[Back stretch]
[Neck stretch]

…you’re doing all of these
at the same time.

“Stretching every day is a hassle,”
you might say—
but you wash your hair, right?

So,
just do it all during that time.

It doesn’t take long.
Once it becomes a habit, you can easily do it every day.

Try keeping this up
for six months.

If you’re concerned about things like:

・Facial sagging
・Scalp condition
・Hair condition
・Body stiffness

…then give it a try.

Just observe
how you change.

This is the
[GACKT-style:
Anti-aging
Shampoo Method]

I’ll say it again:
there’s no scientific basis for this.
It’s just something I’ve done for years
and personally feel is effective.

So,
no need for nitpicking.

If you don’t think you need it,
you don’t have to do it.

If you’re interested,
just try it for six months.

See for yourself
how you turn out
after those six months.
