Tonde Saitama, which was adapted from Maya Mineo’s manga and brought to life by Thermae Romae’s Takeuchi Hideki, is a comedy set in a fictional world where Saitama citizens are being persecuted. Alongside Nikaido Fumi as the male Tokyoite student, Dannoura Momomi and GACKT as the transfer student returning from America, Asami Rei, names like Iseya Yuusuke and Kyomoto Masaki are also included in the cast.
The footage that has been released on this occasion is an interview where Nikaido and GACKT talk about their impression of Saitama. Nikaido says, “I think that it’s a very vast place where there are lots of interesting things that are yet unknown to me”, while GACKT says, “I can’t understand why the people of Tokyo look down on Saitama. If you ask people from Saitama about it, they’d say ‘we’re being looked down upon’ but maybe they’re just convinced that it’s the case”.
Tonde Saitama’s Blu-ray / DVD will be released on 11 September.
