On that night, when Maou GACKT took complete control and sound, darkness, and light intertwined, the audience was deeply immersed in that world. The powerful band sound and the orchestra’s resonance created a magical sound, with every note carefully calculated. It dominated the hearts of those in attendance and listening like a spell, and by the end of the performance, everyone had forgotten to breathe. After the performance, there was a flood of strong requests from the public and stakeholders for a re-enactment of that performance. Finally, on December 23rd, a re-performance will be realized to meet those expectations.
The band members of YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz, led by Maou himself, will reunite, and the orchestra will be the Grand Philharmonic Tokyo. Bringing together top active performers active both in Japan and abroad and up-and-coming young musicians, this orchestra stands out like no other.
In addition to the full orchestra’s black robes, masks, and standing performances, which caused a huge stir in the audience last time, this year will see the introduction of an all-standing first floor venue, an unprecedented move in the classical music world. The boundary between stage and audience will disappear, creating an other-dimensional space where everyone can share in musical ecstasy.

Grand Philharmonic Tokyo:
Established in 2018 with the goal of creating employment opportunities for young musicians and providing opportunities for cultural and artistic activities. The group brings together top-level performers active both in Japan and abroad, as well as up-and-coming young artists. They have performed alongside Japan’s leading artists, including Yoshihiko Inohara (20th Century), Taeko Onuki, Kiyoharu, Sachiko Kobayashi, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Aya Shimazu, Shonan no Kaze, Kiyotaka Sugiyama, Shinji Tanimura, and Yo Hitoto, and are active in a variety of fields beyond classical music, transcending genre boundaries. They have also formed special orchestras for the symphonic musical “Honey and Bees: Listen to the Light,” the 25th Anniversary Symphonic Concert for the RPG game “Persona” series, the Tokyo Game Show 25th Anniversary Symphonic Online Concert, Game Center CX Symphony, and SIXIÈME SENS par Cartier, and have been responsible for recordings for TBS Sunday Theatre’s “VIVANT,” Shochiku Film’s “Hello, Mom,” SQUARE ENIX’s “Triangle Strategy,” Pokémon’s “Pokémon UNITE,” and Netflix’s “Rilakkuma and Kaoru.” The orchestra has hosted events such as “GACKT PHILHARMONIC – Maou Symphony,” “Showa Symphonic Song Festival,” and “HELLO! IDOL CLASSIC,” and is highly anticipated by many as a unique next-generation orchestra. In 2022, composer Akira Senju was appointed executive producer, with Katsuhiro Ida and Hiroyasu Matsumoto appointed principal guest conductors. In April 2025, Tsunehiro Shiki was appointed concertmaster.
