GACKT Official X update. Translation below
On April 13th of this year, we held the “Maou Symphony,” a true fusion of rock and orchestra.
The orchestra’s conductor was Satoshi Yoneda.
He achieved the incredible feat of winning the Besançon International Conducting Competition!
This story may be unfamiliar to those unfamiliar with classical music.
However, this competition is said to be the world’s oldest and most prestigious gateway to success for young conductors.
Seiji Ozawa also once conquered this stage.
To be honest, until we tried, we had no idea whether “Maou Symphony” would be successful or whether we would be able to express it well.
Our colleagues who helped create it have now come one step closer to becoming a force that will move the world.
I am truly proud of this achievement.
“Music knows no borders or genres,” they say, but the reality is not so simple.
There are many logistical challenges to getting rock and orchestras to coexist on the same stage.
Yoneda has achieved this and is now on the verge of becoming one of the people who will move the world.
Congratulations!
I’m truly looking forward to standing on the same stage again next year.
Actually…
I was most surprised when it said you were 29 years old!
Don’t you look too old?!
You should tone up a bit!
