GACKT Official X update. Translation below

Since our last wine party was well received, we held another one.
I was glad that Pierre was very pleased.

This time we compared eight bottles.
I chose some reasonably priced ones from our cellar.

When I posted about the last wine party,
many people wanted to know more about the wines, so I’ll share my thoughts on only the ones I particularly enjoyed so that you can refer to them.
The photos show the wines I opened this time and last time.

So, here’s a quick review.

1: Marc Sorrel’s [Herimitage 2000]
I was impressed by the elegance of this Syrah.
The addition of a small amount of Marsanne (white) gives it a unique and complex flavor.
I was worried it was past its prime,
but it was very impressive and I recommend you try it.
It’s a rare wine, so you can find vintages up to 2015 on the market,
and if it’s from that vintage, you can open it right away.
Please give it a try. This is a great value for beginners or those who don’t like red wine, so I recommend it.

2. Bruno Clair’s Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2002
It’s probably impossible to find a wine of this vintage on the market.
You should be able to buy a younger one at a more affordable price.
Let it age for a while and then try it.
It’s quite assertive,
and I’m surprised that its strength hasn’t diminished even after 23 years.

3. Arlaud’s Charmes-Chambertin 2005
This is a great value for the wines in this price range,
and the most delicious of them all.
Vintage wines from 2010 onwards are quite affordable on the market,
and I highly recommend this wine in terms of value for money.
If you can find a 2005, I highly recommend it.
Everyone raved about how delicious it was.
I think you’ll enjoy it.

4: Claude Dugat’s Charmes-Chambertin 2005
This was also really delicious.
It’s good value for money and well-balanced.
You should be able to get this wine until around 2015.
I especially recommend the vintage.

5: DRC’s Grands Eshezeaux 1981
By the way, this is the one I brought to the last dinner party with Ryuji and Pierre.
It’s definitely in a class of its own.
It’s been a while since I exclaimed, “This is amazing!”
As expected, this is too expensive to recommend.
That said, it’s much cheaper than other DRC wines.
DRC really is in a class of its own.
I want everyone to try a DRC wine at least once in their life.

6: Vogue’s Chambolle-Musigny 1990
This was opened at the last wine party.
After aging this much, it would be natural for it to spoil or deteriorate and become undrinkable, but I was surprised that it retained its strength and suppleness.
Perhaps it’s because 1990 was a vintage with high-quality grapes.
It seems you can still buy it in the market, so please give it a try.

There are photos of other wines I tried.
I’m also having a wine party soon, so I’ll report back if I find any recommended wines then.
