GACKT Official blog update. Translation below:

I woke up rather early.
After finishing my training, I took a shower.

While I travelled around the world for more than a month,
I definitely did my training in each of the countries I visited but,
maybe because I didn’t really do much weight training,
my body looks like it’s become much slimmer.

Whether or not I used weights can be clearly seen from my chest muscles.
I noticed that my chest has grown a lot smaller.
I have to increase the size again.

Even when I looked into the mirror after getting changed,
I can’t deny the feeling that I’ve gone a size down after all.

I’m the type who looks slimmer than I really am when dressed.
Seems like the impressions I leave when I’m actually undressed and when I’m dressed is quite different.

The general image that the world has of me,
is that I have a rather delicate image but
the people that actually meet me in real life will almost definitely
say something like this.

『Based on the image I got when you’re on TV, I thought you’d be slimmer but
you’re quite big in size when I actually meet you! I’m surprised!』

It’s something that’s always been said to me since a long time ago.

I don’t normally like exposing my arms.
Furthermore, I also try not to build too much on the trapezius muscle that stretches from the neck to the shoulder.
If I build the trapezius muscle, my shirts will end up hanging there
and I’ll soon be unable to fit into all clothes.

And I also keep in mind that I won’t build
more muscles on my legs than needed.
Because if my legs get too thick,
I won’t be able to wear the cut of pants that I like.

Perhaps,
it’s related to something like that.

I went up to the lobby and had vegetable juice.
In other words, this is my breakfast.
Then, I leisurely spent my time with a coffee until noon.

A birthday present from my KL partner, Ikeda, arrived at my house.
I was surprised as it was sudden, but it was an assortment of organic foods.
The thoughtfulness is much like him.

And
there was a letter in it too, so I opened it up and read it.

For some reason, I was so delighted by the content that tears came out.
I don’t know what part of it moved me but I was strangely moved to tears.
I wonder if my tear ducts have loosened…
Anyway, I was somehow moved by the handwritten birthday message from him.
He’s got me…

(To Waka

You have already dominated the table
and become the chip leader
by the age of 43,
now turning 44, I believe that you will continue
to hold the nut hand in this coming year as well.
And, lastly,
I believe your existence will become like
the Royal Straight Flush of the human world.
Happy birthday.)

After awhile, it started to rain today again.
Ripples spread across the pool.
The pleasant sound of the rain echoed through my home.

My meeting was to going to be at Mandarin Hotel in the afternoon so I headed out a little earlier
to go to Dolce & Gabbana and look at backpacks.

While travelling around the world this time, I noticed something huge.
It’s something that can be said of even now though.

While holding my clutch bag on one side,
my PC case will be in my other hand as I walk.
And I take pictures for the blog.

Each and every time,
I have to stop walking, put the pouch on the suitcase, then take a picture,
then put it back in my pocket, hold the pouch on one side against me, then move off.
Then when I find something I want to take a picture of again,
I have to put my pouch on the suitcase there, take my phone out,
then when I’m done taking photos, I put it back in my pocket and continue walking.

I couldn’t really carry out this repeated process smoothly,
and I ended up dropping my pouch and my phone numerous times,
and I even broke the iPad that was in the pouch.
Quite uncool.

To top it off,
I again left that pouch behind somewhere and forgot it while moving in the airport.
This is also rather uncool.

I figured that when travelling alone,
it might be better to use a backpack, at least when moving around in the airport,
and decided to go looking for a good backpack.

Honestly,
it’s not something that I’m really into but
I decided to try using it this time.
I might find something I like somewhere in some country again.
I’ll look forward to that.

After concluding my evening meeting,
I headed to the venue of the dinner gathering.
I met up with my partner Ikeda-shi, and headed to the venue.
Tonight, we’re meeting the Prime Minister’s son, Naz, to have dinner with him.

During this past month,
he’s been asking me【When are you coming back to KL?】numerous times,
and when I said I’ll contact him when I’m back,
he said【I want to schedule in advance!】, rushing me.

It’s been awhile since I’ve met him.
We haven’t met for more than 3 months.
We met him at the ground floor of new building he specified
and after finally getting together, the three of us went to the rooftop.
When I asked whether a restaurant was operating at such a place, he said

『I’ve reserved a private room today so
the three of us can take our time eating at the rooftop』

and we went in.
When we went to the back of the rather large restaurant,
work associates I frequently meet and my friends were gathered there.

【Eh?? Is this restaurant that famous???】

I said, unable to understand the situation well.

『Waka!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!』

everyone said together, but
I was in such shock that what I said was

『You guys… What are you doing here??』

I was still completely unable to grasp the situation.
After that, I finally realised that everyone specially made time
to gather together here for my birthday.

In fact,
I was supposed to come back to KL much earlier than this but
I changed my schedule a number of times during the trip
and when I contacted Naz about it,

『Changed again?? Ah〜〜!! I got it!!』

was what he would reply me with.
I guess it was definitely because he had to contact everyone
and change the reservation with the restaurant, and redo everything from start to end with each change.
I realise that right in the middle of the meal.
I’m terribly sorry for it…
It’s nice to surprised but doing the surprising is really tough.

We spent quite a long time
having our meal together and enjoying ourselves.
Halfway, we moved to a bar,
and on this day as well, I ended it with drinking tequila.

Of course,
it’s not as extreme as what I did in Japan.

At the end, I went home with a pleasant feeling but
on the way home, my older sister, who drank with us, felt sick
and for the first time in awhile, I had to stop the car and got to see her puking outside.

My older sister used to be strong as hell with alcohol but
ever since we moved overseas, she hardly drank.
Looks like it’s been 5 years since she has drunk this much.

Arriving home,
I looked at my sister dashing into the room at full speed and thought this.

『I suppose I should be thankful that I’ve lived and gotten home safely…』

Chan-chan…
