GACKT OFFICIAL BITFAN - AUG 18 2026: GACKT Maou Symphony 2026 -INFINITY- Sapporo Performance: Temporary Interruption Due to Equipment Problems Creates a Special Moment for This Day Only
GACKT Official Bitfan update. Translation below
Today's performance of "GACKT Maou Symphony 2026 -INFINITY- organized by billboard classics" in Sapporo.
Earlier in the performance, unexpected equipment problems caused the show to be temporarily interrupted twice.
The first anomaly occurred during the performance of M3, "Tsumi no Keisho ~ORIGINAL SIN~". Despite the equipment problem, GACKT, YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz, and the orchestra continued playing without stopping, completing the song to the end.
However, the performance was temporarily interrupted after the song ended.
The venue, which had been enveloped in a heavy sound, suddenly became silent, and a silence of approximately 10 minutes ensued.
During that time, GACKT remained motionless on stage, quietly waiting for the right moment.
He neither spoke nor left the stage. In the tense silence, the Demon King stood still, his gaze fixed on a single point. His presence transformed even the time interrupted by the unexpected trouble into an integral part of the world of "Demon King Symphony."
After what felt like an impossibly long 10 minutes, GACKT suddenly began singing a cappella.
For approximately 7 minutes, his falsetto voice resonated, weaving through the silence, leaving the audience breathless and captivated.
Then, as if to shatter that lingering feeling, M4, "UNTIL THE LAST DAY," began.
At that moment, an overwhelming surge of excitement enveloped the venue.
The time had been interrupted by the trouble. However, it was precisely because of that long silence that the impact of the first note of "UNTIL THE LAST DAY" was all the more vivid.
GACKT's vocals, YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz's roaring sound, and the grand orchestral melody were unleashed all at once, causing the tense atmosphere to explode.
The audience, too, as if releasing the emotions they had been suppressing until then, raised their "keys of light" (glow sticks) fiercely, responding to the stage with that same energy.
However, just as it seemed that the show had returned to normal after the successful completion of M4, "UNTIL THE LAST DAY,"
the sound suddenly cut out from the venue again.
A second equipment malfunction.
Just when it seemed the venue would once again be enveloped in silence, GACKT suddenly spoke.
Up until this point in "Maou Symphony," GACKT had maintained a consistent worldview without any MC segments.
This unexpected turn of events elicited a huge cheer from the audience.
Furthermore, as if responding to those words, the members of YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz also began playing music, running freely across the front of the stage and further exciting GACKT, creating a lively atmosphere.
The tense atmosphere completely changed.
GACKT and his members transformed what should have been a time of waiting during the technical trouble into improvisational entertainment.
The first 10 minutes were spent in silence.
Then came 7 minutes of falsetto filling the silence.
And then, 8 minutes during the second technical problem, when GACKT himself broke the silence.
These two periods, born from the same equipment malfunction, showed completely different facets, becoming special moments that could only have occurred at this Sapporo performance.
All subsequent performances proceeded smoothly, and the Demon King GACKT, with complete control, elevated the venue itself into one gigantic "ritual," commanding YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz, the orchestra, and even the audience.
