GACKT Reveals Having Previously Considered Retirement 「I couldn't produce convincing stages」

On the 16th, during a program, GACKT mentioned that he thought of retirement before

During GACKT’s unreleased talk, GACKT himself revealed that he only consumes one meal a day, and that he has almost completely stripped carbohydrates from his diet for the past 17 years.

When asked by Wentz Eiji for the reason, GACKT said 「When I started solo (activities), I called upon my band members from Kyoto, and various things happened. You’re supposed to be responsible for your own life right? To that, I thought unless I cut off food that I like, a clumsy person like me would never be able to succeed」, continuing 「Well, it’s something like discipline」, with regards to putting a limit to meals, originally his favourite thing.

In addition, when asked about his childhood dream, GACKT said 「I didn’t have one. Because my body was weak」, 「Even now, it’s not necessarily strong but, my mindset is that with effort, I should maintain it in a good state」.

For such a GACKT, regarding his own physical problems, he said「When I was 32 or 33, I felt my physical limits. I thought, 『If it continues like this, I won’t be able to stand on the stage any more』」, 「At that time, I once even thought, maybe I should quit (entertainment industry activities)」, 「I couldn't produce convincing stages」, as he looked back on his past.

He then revealed, at that point, GACKT resolved to strengthening his body, increasing the amount of his training, and over the course of a year his stamina and muscles increased as well, leading him to where he is now.

Ha poi rivelato, a questo punto, che GACKT ha deciso di rafforzare il suo corpo, aumentando il numero dei suoi allenamenti, e in più di un anno la sua stamina e i suoi muscoli sono aumentati allo stesso modo, guidandolo dove si trova ora.
