GACKT Official X update. Translation below

Since my Piaphone post, I’ve been receiving a lot of messages from various brands saying, “Listen to our earphones!”

I’ll share one of my favorites.

It’s going to be a long post, so if you’re not interested, don’t read on.

[HIMALAYA] (NICEHCK)

The name is beautiful, but let me start by saying this:
These are not “easy-to-use earphones” for everyone.

The driver is single dynamic.
The diaphragm is highly rigid and provides ample driving force.
However, rather than the broad, decorative approach of multi-BA earphones,
they focus on sharp, cutting sound.

The separation is striking.
But the warmth has been stripped away,
making them sound like a knife made specifically for cutting people.

The low frequencies are fast rather than sinking.
They extend down to around 20Hz, but the volume is modest.
Those who want a thumping sound may find them lacking.
But the tightness is outstanding. The bass line’s progression and kick attack are frighteningly precise.

The mid-range has a sense of distance.
Even roughness in the recording and tremors in the voice are exposed.
It even digs into the hidden depths of the sound source.
This is truly a “vocal crybaby”!
It mercilessly exposes the roughness of a crappy vocalist who doesn’t pay much attention to detail.
That’s what makes it irresistible!

The high frequencies rise sharply.
The harmonics of the cymbals scatter like ice particles and can sting your ears with a poor recording.
But with a good sound source, they display a clarity that gives you goosebumps.

Even more interesting is the “Acoustic Nozzle.”

It comes with three different parts, allowing you to change the sound characteristics yourself.
You don’t just listen, you choose “how you listen.”
It’s playful and has a strong attention to detail.

And there’s a cover with a small hole at the earphone outlet.
This is great.
They’ve packed in ingenuity into even parts that are often overlooked, fine-tuning the airflow and resonance.
To be honest, this level of attention to detail is *insane*.

The machined titanium alloy housing is also beautiful.
There is little resonance, and a cool, metallic sound comes through in the sound.
They’re lightweight and fit well.

But be careful.
The quality of the amplifier can drastically change the character of the sound.
With weak output, the sound will simply be harsh.

Conclusion.
The HIMALAYA are earphones that present *the truth* rather than *comfort*.
I like that they don’t pamper either the sound source or the listener.

They’ll be a pain for players who want to hide their flaws.
But they’re the perfect tool for those who want to face the *true face* of music.

Mountains are beautiful, but also cruel.
I wonder if that’s the image they were named with.

If you’re curious, give them a try.
