I cut my Europe schedule short because
I was going to say goodbye to this lady for quite awhile.
Soon after I came to KL, I became friends with her.
We’re similar in age too, and we got along well but,
I also quickly became friends with her husband and her family,
and it’s already been around 4 years since we first met.
Although we don’t work together,
I was able to get her advice and help
on a variety of ends.

she will always, definitely, give a wonderful smile with her cheerful personality.
When she saw my diet,
she said 『That’s definitely impossible for me!! Ahahahaha』
and laughed as she hit her stomach.
She loves eating and drinking, and
her favourite phrase is
【Live with a smile and in a way that will leave you without regrets even if today is your last day】.
I love her favourite phrase.
I’m always thinking the same way too, and I understand the meaning behind those words well.
And the smile that she has after saying this line is exceptionally wonderful.
She’s always laughing.
She brings smiles to those around her.
Her daughter has graduated from middle school and is going to high school.
In the first place, she and her relatives are doctors
so for her daughter to progress on the doctor route and to go to medical school,
the whole family has decided to move to London.
She and her husband have both spent their school days in London too,
so they will be moving to London for their daughter.
It’s also a wonderful thing that they have the environment that enables them to do something like this.
Normally, there will naturally be a variety of problems though, like
because of the husband’s work… or
because of the existing relationships… or
because of monetary issues and such.
To him, family is more important than anything else.
And now,
what’s the most precious
to them, I suppose, is
【the limited time that the family can stay together for】.
There is only a mere 20 years that a family lives together for.
More than half of that is taken up by school.
The actual time spent together is actually far more shorter.
He’s also an exceptionally wonderful husband,
and he’s involved in a rather large project in KL as an architect.
In the past, when I visited their home,
there was once when we spent over an hour talking about a random topic like

Even with something like this that may seems nonsensical at first glance,
his way of pursuing it with his particularities is exceptionally interesting.
It’s enjoyable to talk to people who have strong preferences for each and everything,
and their style shows through all of it.
That style is what makes up that person.
Those who don’t have preferences don’t have style.
Well, it doesn’t matter whether that’s good or not.
To me, I think that people who have their preferences
and have their own style are more fascinating.
While drinking wine, this is what she said,
『The time between when we are 12 and 18 years old
is the time when most of a person’s morals, affections, and the basic way they get things is formed.
During that period, the most important thing a parent should do is to watch over their children,
steadily be at their sides and correct the path that they walk on without overdoing it.

I wonder if I was able to convey my own feelings
that well to other people at that age.
To say the least of it, I was completely unable to.

After the phone call ended, I started talking to her again.
As medical school is much cheaper in London and they have two children,
she said that on the whole, it would be better for them to study in London.
It’s best to live in KL but
if they were to go to medical school, it seems that London is better.
『After 7 years and after the kids have finished school, I’ll become free too.
At that time I’ll come back to KL so wait for me until then. Darling』
She jokingly winked, finished up her wine,
